Select Music Journal

Editorial policy

Select Music Journal aims to make its writing clear, considered and useful to music listeners. We distinguish description from opinion and take care not to present preference as fact.

Accuracy and independence

We check factual statements against appropriate sources and review wording for clarity. Reviews and commentary represent editorial judgment, not a single correct way to listen. Commercial relationships do not determine our conclusions.

Corrections

If a reader spots an error, they can contact us with the passage and the information that may clarify it. We assess correction requests and update published wording when warranted, making the change clear where appropriate.

Partner material

Paid or partner-supported material is labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. A partnership does not guarantee coverage, a favourable view or editorial approval.

Illustrations

Some illustrations may be generated with AI. We do not present illustrative images as documentary photographs of a real listening session or place.

Our point of view

A room can change the way we hear

We pay attention to the setting as well as the sound: where listeners sit, what draws the eye and how a session finds its pace.
